Times may have changed, but we haven't! For nearly 80 years, we have been at the same location providing the "gold standard" in customer service and competitive pricing.
O'Brien Tire & Service Center, then known as O'Brien's Service, was started on March 17, 1932 by James E. O'Brien. O'Brien's Service originally started as a Shell filling station. Jim then bought a BF Goodrich Tire franchise from Kirchner Hardware. Jim then retired on December 31, 1952 and moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Alvin Bruce Marler took over the business January 1, 1953. While Bruce was the owner, Nameoki Road was widened and the existing tire shop was expanded in 1968. Bruce retired December 31, 1969.
Earl and Marcia Buenger took over the business from Bruce Marler on January 1, 1970. During their ownership, Earl and Marcia bought the adjoining Bolliger Upholstery Shop in March of 1976. In September of the same year, the upholstery building was torn down and the Service Center was built in its place. In 1982, Earl & Marcia purchased the warehouse on Braden Avenue. They expanded the Service Center with an additional warehouse in 1984.
Earl and Marcia's sons, Scott and Mark Buenger (pictured right), became the current owners of O'Brien Tire & Service Center in 1992 and have continued to successfuly grow the business. O'Brien Tire & Service Center will be celebrating its 80th Anniversary on March 17, 2012.
